Trading Terms
You Need to Know

NQ / ES
Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 Futures contracts — the two primary instruments taught at WTA. Highly liquid, traded nearly 24 hours a day.
R:R (Risk-to-Reward)
The ratio of how much you risk vs. how much you stand to gain on a trade. A 1:3 R:R means risking $100 to potentially make $300.
Box Method
Calvin’s core setup: identifying a consolidation zone (the “box”) and trading the breakout with defined entries, stops, and targets.
13-EMA
A 13-period Exponential Moving Average used to gauge momentum and identify breakout confirmation in WTA’s primary strategy.
Prop Firm
Proprietary trading firm that funds traders with their capital after they pass a challenge phase. Traders keep a share (70–90%) of profits.
Drawdown
The peak-to-trough decline in an account. Prop firms set maximum daily and trailing drawdown limits that, if hit, end the challenge.
Supply & Demand Zones
Price areas where strong institutional buying (demand) or selling (supply) previously occurred — key reference points for high-probability entries.
Session Bias
Your directional leaning (bullish, bearish, or neutral) for the trading day, established during pre-market analysis before the market opens.
